Yeah, it’s a very niche problem, only @Kolok reported having seen it before.

The only money I’ve ever been billed was the original £5 to set up a new account with 1x 1GB PAYG SIM. I ended up using 13.5GB in Nov and had it configured to top up by 3GB, but it never did, and never disconnected. And this month’s plan wasn’t charged at all :s
I got charged 1st of December as usual for the monthly plan but not the auto cash topups.
