Auto top ups

Are they working correctly? I run a zero balance bank account only transferring money in when I need it. Keep getting auto top ups fail because the 2nd retry happens too soon:

Hi Colin, apologies for the inconvenience, auto top-ups happen when your cash balance goes below £1. Retries happen automatically on Stripe’s schedule.

I know how they work but the retry doesn’t give me enough time

It’s the gap between to two attempts - there doesn’t seem to be one.
