I sent an international SMS to the US, and the receiver had the from as another +1 number in the Washington area code. Where did my number get lost?
Hmm, could you send a message in-app with some of the details? Can then look into it further
Via the NSA,
In all seriousness I’m curious if you know what happened.
Nick has asked EE, it’s not immediately obvious what the issue is.
was there any kind of pattern to the way the number was changed? In the US, phone systems tend to be very aggressive about assuming a number is a US number. For example, get a call from +972 (Israel), and the phone thinks the caller is in Dallas Texas (+1 972). If it’s that kind of error, then the fault is possibly on the receiver’s side.
No pattern that could be figured out. Looks like somewhere along the way it was just rewritten. In the end EE didn’t know either so it’s probably something inside Twilio’s network. Not a very satisfying conclusion but thought I’d update here anyway in case anyone was waiting for an update.
